Korean Persimmon Leaf Tea (Loose) - Gamnipcha
Korean Persimmon Loose Leaf Tea (Gamnipcha 감잎차) in 30g bag.
Leaves of the Persimmon tree (grown in Korea) are collected then steamed. Then the leaves are rubbed by hands so they can release the flavor better in your tea. Once it has gone through the rubbing process, it is dried and then finally roasted.
This tea has a wonderful mild roasted flavor that reminds you of Nurungji. It is not bitter nor does it have any tanin and is a lot smoother in flavor than many green tea. It's just so comforting.. you can almost imagine being in the Korean temple somewhere and going into a zen mode by drinking this tea.
How to enjoy Persimmon Leaf Tea
Add about a 12 or so leaves (1 g) to 1 cup of hot water, let it steep for 2-3 minutes for the full flavor to develop. You can replenish with more hot water and repeat without adding new leaves.
