Korean Melon Seeds (Chamoe)
Korean Melon (Chamoe 참외) seeds
These amazingly sweet melons are oval-shaped and grow to have a deep golden skin color with white stripes. Inside, it has a white soft, and slightly crunchy flesh with hard seeds in the center.
Each Chamoe weigh about 1 lbs or more.
Train to climb on vertical lattice for ease of harvest or let it grow on the ground. Harvest when the fruit has a fragrant aroma and at the first sign of first cracking at the base of the melon stem.
- Light - Full Sun
- Planting Time - late spring/summer after last frost (above 77F) or start seeds indoors 2-4 weeks earlier and transplant outside when weather is warm. Germination 4-6 days.
- Planting/Growing - grow in well-draining soil. Overwatering may result in less sweet fruits. The fruits will be ready to harvest around 40 days after fruit set.
