Korean Chives (Buchu) Seeds
Korean Chives (Buchu 부추) - Allium Tuberosum - is a great easy plant to grow because it’s perennial and self-propagating. Korean Chives used in Korean cooking is different from the chives you see at regular grocery stores. These have thick flat leaves like giant grass and have a wonderful garlic flavor.
Korean Buchu (chives) are also called garlic chives, Asian chives, Chinese chives and Chinese leek. Korean grocery stores always sell these in HUGE bunches but they also go bad pretty quickly. Once it starts to rot, it's a pain to rinse off the mushy spoiled leaves and that’s why I started to grow them at home several years ago and now I never have to buy them.
Korean Recipes with Chives: Buchu Jeon(pancakes), Buchu Salad, and Cucumber Kimchi and of course in many other kimchi recipes.
